Scrap Our Stash - June Sketch Scraps Only Challenge #4 & pre-made tag/twine

I love this layout! The photos were great and "Our Noodle Girl" got to shine. Complete with her chopsticks which are a must when she eats her noodles!!!

I picked up a Jolee's Chinese Food dimensional sticker pack and these papers came in mind. But how to fit the 4 large photos on one page????
So glad to have been given this sketch.....so love it for this!
Here is the sketch:

So, I had much larger pictures than what the sketch called for... even after cropping them down on the first try.  I placed the close-up of her noodles in the top left corner and fine-tuned the scraps and 3 pic grouping.

After trimming up the grouping but not too close that I would lose her noodles. I made spacing for the fortune cookie embellishment buttons (like on the sketch) Attached it all to the mat. Having larger photos worked out great since my red medallion paper had half circles punched along one side and the stripe had ovals punched randomly. You will see what a mean below.

Started working on the placement of the pre-made tag with the collection of fortunes from various Chinese dinners. I choose the fortunes that fit her best or I wish for her...a few were in a baggie labeled with her name since they fit her so well when she asked my husband and myself to read them. Added the Jolee's open cookie to the top of the tag and some twine from another tag I used but replaced the twine with fibers.

Tag behind the photo mat

Added the patterned paper tab after attaching the Jolee's take-out carton. Used a Slick Writer and added the date...as you can see as shakey as possible! BUT it is documented!

Used Fabric Thickers in Grey...so love those and a shimmer alpha (photo does it no justice) for the word "girl"

So are you ready to see it all as one???

OK, I will show you...since I really do love this layout!

Scrap Our Stash - June Stash Challenge - I heart those Guys! Plus brads...

I found the perfect picture to scrap for those Guys! My son looking out for Dad!
Since the title of this challenge was I Heart those Guys! I found a negative of a heart in my scrap bin and it matched the papers I was using. We didn't have to use a heart but it was a bonus that I love on this page.

I got to use a bunch of rub-ons from my stash too! Used them on the tags and as a frame around the photo. You can read the journaling to understand the connections:

Fun page and loved that I got it done! My son's scrapbooks are lacking compared to my daughter's!

Fiskateers Birthday Club Online Crop...cont'd

Here are the rest of the projects I created for the online crop.

BCC #5 - Make a birthday themed project featuring presents.

BCC #6 - With July 4th around the corner make a red, white & blue birthday themed project.

BCC #7 - Challenge was to name your best birthday. The extended weekend trip to Niagara Falls was my favorite. Also, the 1st trip album I completed. Here is a link to a few of those pages. Niagara Falls Butterflies

BCC #8 - Make a birthday themed project using 3 Fiskars tools and Fiskateer scissor colors - orange & green.

BCC # 9 (GAME) - Was a name game for crafting items. Spell out HAPPY BIRTHDAY in a chain like fashion. So, H - Hand Punch then A - Adhesive....etc. Around and around it goes.

BCC #10 - Create a birthday card that incorporates a "peek-through to the inside" element via some sort of window on the front.

 Front of Card (Outside)

Inside

BCC #11 - Create a card the doubles as a gift card holder. I RAN OUT OF TIME! PLUS NOTHING POPPED IN MY MIND, CREATIVITY WISE!

BCC #12 - Make a birthday card for a special male in your life - man or boy!

Used a Platinum Staz-On --- I wanted to go back an add embossing powder to the tires and bike itself. BUT I like the look AND don't want to screw up what I got!
I did stamp the image on a scrap piece that I will have to TRY this technique of adding embossing powder to areas. I have only really tried it before using an outlined stamped image. So I only had to fill in the outline...pretty much like you would coloring.

Fiskateers Birthday Club Online Crop

Happy Father's Day --- One card done!

I had a package of goodies to mail out to Family in NJ...So, I made sure I got my Father's Day card done and sent out with it!
My brother & sister-in-law got their belated birthday cards, My Mom got her Mother's Day card and a bunch of pics from our family photo shoot & daughter's birthday. Plus, a bunch of artwork from my kids to Whoever claims it first!

Here is the Father's Day card I created for my Dad.
Cut out the cattails from Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. I used some flocking on the cattails and inked up the grass with the edge of the ink pad.
Cut out the boy fishing and sign from A Child's Year Cartridge. Created the fishing hole using some pearlescent paint with some Stickles. I haven't done this technique before...with the paint!

Scrap Our Stash - Challenge #4 - I heart those Guys!

I actually made 2 layouts for this challenge.
When I copied the challenge down the first time it never had in the details to scrap about the "Guys in our life." Yes a DUH moment on my end! Even though it was titled "I heart those Guys!" I still didn't put it together.
Anyway, click on over to Scrap Our Stash and see those details. You have the whole month to create your layout and link up for a chance to win the prize!

So, Here is what I created using pictures of my daughter smelling the daffodils after the finally bloomed. She was so excited when she first saw the leaves popping up out of the fall leaves on the ground. So, each morning we would go investigate their progress. I had some cute flower brads in my stash I have been wanting to use. They are tulip like but they work perfect!

I used a border cut from the Cricut. I cut one in a large size and another smaller, inked them up and added the brads.

Digging into my stash I found some old alphas I never used. Matted them on yellow because they got lost on the lattice background paper. Used another sticker ".....in full bloom" from an flower paper kit.

Matted the photos with some white and added the little girl with the wheel barrow...ta-dah!

Just need to tag the dates for each photo.
