Sometimes not getting the chance to get in your Craft Room is a good thing!

Well yesterday I posted that I needed to get in my craft room...

I got the chance to make a quick card yesterday afternoon. It ended up being a Christmas card all because I found a cute stamp I had! I still need to add the sentiment but it is finished otherwise.

I was hoping to get to a few other cards I started but never finished for Fiskateers - Card Lifters.

SO, today I had to get a birthday card made for a gathering this afternoon.

I am in love with this card...I think nature themed card are so fun to do!
I find that these cards are where my layering and creativity come out the most!

READY to SEE what I did? OK, in a minute...

I use my old cell phone as my MP3 player for music in my craft room.
While I was building the card I took pictures with that old phone as I went. That way you can see the layers and steps.

I will be posting the steps later in another post. Since I got a party to get to!!!!

HERE YOU GO! A LITTLE TASTE OF NEWFOUNDLAND!

I have been MIA (Missing In Action) in my Craft Room.

Well the start of the School Year for me has been CRAZY!
When I thought that I would have the chance to get to craft more....It has been the totally opposite for everything!!!!

On the POSITIVE side:
*  The weather has been beautiful for Newfoundland.
*  My daughter is in two dance classes and continuing with her guitar lessons.
*  There is more time for my son with me. Plus, added Playgroup meeting times.
*  Full days of school - I got a 1st Grader now!
*  I got a visit from my Aunt for two-weeks!
*  Yoga classes that fit our schedule and I can attend regularly!

So the craziness of the start of school, I guess is something we all go through...
*  1st grade is a big adjustment from half-day Kindergarten

SO, my to-do list is piling up.....

  • I would have had my house decorated already for Fall - still not done (still have my Red, White & Blue up)
  • Camper would be almost winterized - we pulled her back from camping and parked her in the yard. I emptied out the fridge/freezer, dirty clothes and that's about it!
  • My son's birthday just past and it was like a whirl-wind since all the extra activities started the same week.
  • I haven't got in my Craft Room often enough!!!
  • Recipes to try or plan have not been done!
  • My bag for my Scrapbooking Retreat is totally empty - I would have started planning and putting my papers/pictures together.
  • Dust is building up again!
  • I have posted on my blog lately! - Usually try to at least once a week!
  • I haven't got in my Craft Room other than making a card or two!
So, I feel that a bit has calm down...
BUT that means the pressure is on and it is time to get busy!!!
I am lucky that the rain has finally arrived and it has been back to the norm weather for Newfoundland.
FALL is now officially here...weather wise and even on the calendar!

My Back To School Page is up over on XOXO Scrapbooking!

SO, the night before school my husband was singing the Staples TV commercial tune..."It's the most wonderful time of the year!"  I have to admit I was looking forward to school starting too!
We only have one in school right now and she is only in 1st Grade this year!

My daughter was super excited picking out her School Gear but not so much for 1st Grade!

Check out what the rest of the XOXO Design Team has created for Back-To-School.

Now on to my page....

Using the Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge I cut out the post and sign for my title. Embossed the edges of the sign and my title. For the post I traced the edge in a hot pink gel pen to add dimension to the page.

Using Studio Calico Yearbook paper I border punched the edge with Notebook punch and ink distressed using Bamboo ink from Close To My Heart. Doodled here and there and added my journaling.

Here is the completed page I created using those tags for her School gear.
