Cruisin

I am so glad I found this dirt road tracks paper. At the time I lived by a bunch of dirt roads.
Then and still have a brother who was always riding his Quad or Jeep in those dirt roads. Somewhere I knew I had pictures as a kid at my Aunt/Uncle's property riding around on Quads, even knew if I got to dig in Mom's photos there are Go-cart pictures too!
But then I had kids and I still want to do those pages I in-visioned when I bought the paper. Maybe I should say I had a BOY! AND He is DIRT & NOISE!

My nephew out grew his Battery-Operated Jeep so my kids got it! As you can see my niece, who is older than my nephew still enjoys the ride!
Using the dirt road tracks paper I Stamped out my title using Close To My Heart's Postboard Alphas, fussy cut them and attached down the page. Grouped my photos in a tight square, attached to that dirt road tracks paper then cut my mat about a 1/2" all around based on the position of the photos. Inked up the edge in black to match the title. Added the sentiment enjoy the ride and some tracks. Attached my metal charms with brads and cut out some burlap pennants. I attached them with a mini glue dot and added brads to the tops.

Scrap Our Stash DT - Sketch #1 & Mixed Alphas

Over on Scrap Our Stash we were given the challenge to use a Sketch and mixed Alphas from our stash. Here is the link to mine.
I had these pics in a page planner for a while waiting to be scrapped, even had the papers with it...Just never got a feel each time I attempted the page.
So, after using the sketch and my leftover alphas, ta-da!

I used my stash pf "discards" (Alphas I have cut out using my Cricut or Sizzix Dies) You know the letters that you may cut out then not used because either you didn't like the look or needed a bigger/smaller size! I keep them in a plastic pencil case in a cabinet next to my cutting area. Having these "Discards" have came in handy quite a few times!

I used the Capital "F" for the word Fotos, since I loved the cut out and I didn't want to cut out a new letter...the challenge was to use our STASH, right?

Below is the 1 st page I made for her 1st day of Pre-K...still untitled but I loved the photos above too! So wanted to do a 2-pager. Now, I can pull out those mixed alphas I have stashed and add some of those details from the above page.

Over on Scrap Our Stash you have until March 29th to link up your Challenge.

Liftateers Year 4, Week #20 & #22

Week #20
My daughter out in the snow spreading her Reindeer food.
Making sure it was in a spot when there was fresh snow. She wanted to make sure she would see the reindeers prints in the morning.
By then she had forgotten once she saw what was under the tree.

BUT I told my husband you got some work to do later just in case. So, out with a broomstick he went trying to reach the spot without making tracks himself.

All the above written on the swirls.

Fiskateers St. Patrick's Day Mini Online Crop (SPD)

Over on Fiskateers they are having a Mini Online Crop
Here are some of the challenges I completed:

Challenge #1: Kermit The Frog
Your challenge is to create something inspired by America's favorite 'GREEN' character - Kermit the Frog!
You can take this in any direction you wish.  Use the color combination of his character (lime green, with a pop of red, white and black), marry the colors of him and his lover girl Miss Piggy together on a project (green and pink), create a frog punch art embellishment, sew a frog stuffed toy, or make a card focused around his famous one-liner or a froggy-focused sentiment.

Challenge #2: Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Your challenge is to create something that clearly makes rainbow colors shine on your project!

Challenge #3: All That Glitters Is Gold
Your challenge is to create using gold products: fabric, paper, embellishments, glitter, paint, sequins, tissue paper, etc.)

Challenge #4: Kiss Me I'm Irish
Your challenge is to create a project focused on love and kisses using green as your primary color instead of the traditional pink and red.

Challenge #5: He's After Me Lucky Charms
Your challenge is to create a project using charms!  For you papercrafters, that might mean digging into your bowl of metal to unearth some long forgotten embellishments, and you fabric enthusiasts might find yourself reaching for a soft charm pack.  Either way, I'm sure the gallery with hold charming results.
ALSO USED THIS LAYOUT FOR MY LIFTATEERS - WEEK #24

Challenge #6: As Luck Would Have It
Your challenge today is to create a project based on good fortune, good luck, &/or lucky 4-leaf clovers, otherwise known as Shamrocks!

Scrap Our Stash DT - Challenge #1 - Kraft It Up

Scrap Our Stash Challenge #1 ~ Kraft It Up!
And here is the prize you are playing for this month:

For our first challenge we are going to get busy and ...
THE CHALLENGE:
Create a LAYOUT and at least 50% of the products you use on your layout must be Kraft paper and/or embellies.
Oh, and that's not it!
You will have to dig further into your stash because...
you must include 3+ metal embellishments..  You can mix or match the metal embellishments as long as there are 3 or more on you layout.

Here is what I created for this challenge:
I love Kraft paper! It works so well with my current style...which is best described as shabby chic but with an rustic twist. I fine that I use a lot of earthtones and distress often, either edge or inked distressed and/or both!
I used green pattern paper and added basic Kraft cardstock.  Made my own flags and ran some Kraft through the paper crimper. Using CTMH Desert Sand ink to stamp around the page. Also, got to use my Old tools and pulled out the Sizzix Sidekick and Cat N' Mouse letter dies for my title. I cut out my flags and attached them to stick pins. Fished around a bin of misc. odds and ends and found some metal stars and photo anchors.

SO ARE YOU ABLE TO GET KRAFTY?

One last thing...the Scrap Our Stash Challenge GUIDELINES!

To be eligible for the prize drawing you must link up your project using Mr Linky
on the side bar by MARCH 29, 2013 ~ 11:59 PM (PST)
