Card Lifters and Liftateers - Week #2

This week's lifts...actually I am a bit behind in posting. But here they are...

My Card Lift

Here is the card we were given. Found at this link:

Here is My Page Lift

I am not thrilled with this page as far as wow factor goes! But I am so happy and proud of this page mainly because it was adding to my Christmas album!

BUT also because I used items I have had in my stash for a long while. Cut out and assembled some pieces and title using the Cricut. Hand stitched on three borders, used old CM Stickers (really creatively I might add), used a brad from my stash along with those cardstock printed embellishments from way back!

Here was the page we were given (found on http://lisadickinson.typepad.com/gettin_by/)

Card Lifters and Liftateers are back! Week #1

I am happy to say the Card Lifters and Liftateers are back!
The Card Lifters and Liftateers used to be based exclusively on the Fiskar's sponsored forum called Fiskateers. Since that platform changed a while back we lifters were losing our mojo!
With the multiple platforms out there such as Pinterest...We lifters have found a way to continue! I will include a link when available to the original card or layout we are given to give credit and share the love!

Here is my Week #1

Here is the card we were given for Card Lifters Week 1: found at http://nanceleedy.blogspot.com/2011/05/candy-butterflies.html

My Daughter's Crafty Work

My 7 year old daughter created this card for her new cousin!

The inside that she wrote out for him!

We had a day crafting. Here is a few pages she worked on using extra photos I had and her own creativity! Front of her album.

 Inside her 8 1/2 x 11 Album

A few more pages she did using 12 x 12 papers.

She had fun using all these supplies that were given to her from a scrappy friend of mine. When she gave two overflowing boxes to my daughter...She said, "It was so she can have her own stash!"

Thanks Vicki!
I have a partner in crime!
If I happen to get scrapping she is not far behind me!

Finally posting Day Crop pages

Back in September I attended a Day Crop. I got to finish up some long over due pages from my Brother and Sister-In-Laws Destination Hawaii Wedding...
I had given them the album with 12 of the 22 pages I completed back in June 2013 when we went back to visit in NJ. The pages in this post that had adjoining pages will be linked to the original posts. Click on those to check them out! If you use the "Labels" on the sidebar and Click "Wedding" it will pull up the rest!

Here is Page 8: Used the flowers from CTMH Extreme Happiness Stamp Set. Stamped and Fussy cut them.

Page 9: Toasting after the ceremony.

"Hang Ten" is page 12 was posted back in April of 2013. Click here to see!

Page 13 I used a Beach Wedding sticker from a Jolee's set to help form the stitched circle. Accented with Little Yellow Bicycle Naturals, a stamped cork piece and buttons. I left my stitching gear home so I still have to finish the circle.

Next is Page 14, which is Mother/Son page:
Stamped lines using a journal ledger stamp using White Pigment Ink on the Chocolate Cardstock. Accented with some Burlap. Also used the CTMH Extreme Happiness stamp and fussy cut the flowers.

The adjoining page Father/Son for Week #14 of the Liftateers Challenges in Jan. 2013. Click here to see! I added another photo to the page, but never took another photo of it before sending it to my Brother and Sister-In-Law!

Next is a double page LO, pages 16-17 was from a Goofy Photo Shoot on the Beach. The pictures were dark so I had a hard time trying to brightening them up while still using the same color theme.

Page 18 is another adjoining page that used more bright photos from the beach photo shoot. Click here to see the one I created back in Jan 2013.

Page 19 using the same stickers and accent pieces.

Page 20 -21: Individual Beach Shots and A Picture I need to enlarge.

Close-Up of the Fussy Cut Flowers

I still have to blow up the picture for the next page.

I wanted it to say "Always Kiss Goodnight" from the start of my creative process...Of course I couldn't find the saying at the crop and found Sweet Kisses which fit just as good! FYI: If your looking for that saying, "Always Kiss Goodnight" it is on the Wall Decals Cartridge.
I cut out the saying using the flocked paper at first but it was too busy. So I cut it out again using Kraft cardstock inked it up with Desert Sand ink, but kept the first letters in flocked.

Final Page in the album...

So happy that I am only 2 pages left to finish. Then it is on to my 3 month old nephews pages!

A Lift from a Lift!

I really enjoyed using the sketch idea that came from our May Lift Challenge over at XOXO Scrapbooking. The original was my 2 page layout posted for our DT and Challenge. Click over to the original post HERE. After seeing Joanne's take on the lift... I lifted her lift! Using it to create another page with some pics of the dogs during Christmas.

Here was the page Joanne had for the lift:

September XOXO DT - Skipper's Martini

This month Tess's page really got me inspired to scrap one of my favorite pictures on Skipper. Our dog, Skipper is the most mischief-est (is that a word?). He had been one twisting up fork tines, chewing up shoes, one of my good earrings were redesigned, found on the kitchen table, etc....Thankfully he has grown up a bit, still has some spiteful moments at times...like chewing Dad's boots when he hasn't give him the time he felt needed!

I started my page by making paint splatters on my white cardstock using a teal metallic acrylic paint. After allowing it to dry I could add the pieces on top. Had a fun drink recipe paper I cut 4" x 12" to layer down first.

Made an oversized banner using the woodgrian paper. Using Cricut Close To My Heart Artbooking cartridge with the overlay option I created the circle line pattern. Added the striped paper and then my matted photo.

Then after layering and attaching all the papers, matted photo I added my title.

You can see a bit of Skipper with his Martini glass which was clean and just made out of plastic. So I wonder what made him grab it?

Here is the final page altogether!

So, you have all month the play along and have a chance at being our next Guest DT!
Check out the XOXO Scrapbooking blog and play along!

Sailing Away Again

It is only 5 days shy of hitting the month mark since my last post! Well, it has been about that long since I have been in my scrap room too!

Here is the last thing I worked on! I made this framed piece with my Aunt and Uncle in mind. They had some damage to their sailboat during Hurricane Sandy. Thankfully all was repairable! Ever since I seen the papers I used and heard about my Uncle working on the sailboat. I knew I wanted to create something while he was getting ready to set sail, again!

I used Close To My Heart - Tommy Workshop on the Go, CTMH Inks - Cranberry, Honey, Outdoor Denim and Desert Sand, Tommy Assortment, Tommy Complements, Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon, Outdoor Denim Embossing Powder, Cranberry Twine, White Daisy Pigment Ink and some unknown named cranberry-like embossing powder.

Here is the Tag I created using the instructions from the Workshop on the Go. Only I stamped image 3 (saying) with Versamark watermark stamp pad added Outdoor Denim Embossing Powder on and setting it with the heat gun! Added the Cranberry Twine to the top instead of ribbon.

Using the unknown cranberry-like color embossing powder and the Tommy Workshop on the Go Stamp image 2 (flag banner). I used the same idea as the Workshop instructions BUT heat embossed the image across the top of the page. Used the Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon across the middle and secured the matching Assortment flags. I created an additional flag of my own using a toothpick and one of the Tommy Complements Stickers.

Using the White Daisy Pigment ink I stamped the Sailboat and after it dried outlined the mast and top rail of the boat with Silver gel pen.

Taking a cue from the Workshop on the Go Instructions. I cut out the squares using Tommy Papers and my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge making my <Square5> smaller to suit my layout (1 1/2"). Edge Distressed and Inked them up. Placed the Tommy Assortment pieces and Complements Stickers.

Here is the completed page attached to the backing of the framed shadowbox. Edge Distressing all around the sides. Used the top paper accent strip from the Tommy papers just below the Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon.

The Framed Gift Ready to go!
