Well, I haven't touched my scrapbooking since the last retreat I attended back in March!!
Our end of the school year was crazy busy. We have been moving kid's rooms around too! So, my space has been over-run with extra things in the long process.

Anyway, before school starts up...
Over on XOXO Scrapbooking we wanted to get a bit of Summer in!
Here is the challenge for the rest of August and September.

Teacher Gifts

The year of year gift I found on pinterest.....Here is what my kiddos gave their teacher's!

I found this cute gift idea for teacher's gift and it came with a tag you can download!

Here is the link to my pin. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/247838785720920850/

Here is the original blog post: i-have-to-ad-mitt-youre-sweet-teacher

For the kiddos swimming instructor I created this little postcard style/gift card holder.

Emma would play a game with the kids at the end of lessons. Asked them if the liked certain foods. Changing it up once in a while and letting them call out the food before they jumped in the pool.

So, the kiddos like the idea of asking Emma "Do you like Tim's?"

Off the enjoy the summer!

Liftateers, Week #6 - Bell Island Hockey Tournament

This week we had a awesome layout to start from...

I loved how the title came out...
My son is Number 10 in the White jersey!

Using some extra arrows for journaling and adding in the different teams they played.

Here is a full shot of the 1st page.
That guy in the hoodie is my husband coaching my son on the bench and giving the goalie some tips. He played as a goalie back in his time on the ice.

I had more pictures to use so I made mine into a 2 page LO.

Here is some close up details of the 2 pages next to each other.

Page 2 full shot. I noticed my "a" slipped a bit. Need to add the two other teams they played.

2 pages together...the only one I cropped down also!

Here is the layout we were given to lift this week. Found On scrapbbok.com designed by NichyRae.

Card Lifters, Week #9 - Blessed

For this week's card I used some packaging I had from a box of chipboard Alphas. Cut out the words "Blessed" from a Cricut cartridge (I will have to update which one...Can't remember) I was thinking of using this card for a Baby's Birth, a Baptism or Holy Communion. Added some white fiber!

Here is a little better shot with out the sun's glare!

Th inside of the card. I cut out the word "blessed" before going to a crop. So, after making this card there...I would recommend doing a reverse cut of the words use use so you can place them on the back in the inside of the card for a cleaner finished look!

My patterned paper does go right to the edge of the corrugated but there is a lip/space you can see from the inside. I did edge distress ever edge of the patterned paper to help cover the lip/space that I can see! Just my little quirky crafting peeve that would bother me if this card were to fall into the hands of a fellow crafter!

Here is the original card we were given. Found at featured-designer-ardyth-percy-robb

So, on to my post for the 1st Fiskafriends Blog Hop
I am sure we have a great line up for you! You have probably came through a few blogs already. Last would have been Fiskateer #6857 Teresa's blog "Purple Bunny Paper Crafts"
If you miss any links you can always go back to Fiskafriends blog for the links. I have come to know many of these bloggers and love seeing their creations.

I have a (PHD) page for you!
What is a PHD? Somewhere in my scrapbooking adventure I found this term...Which stands for Page(s) Half Done (PHD)...I loved it because I usually have a few of these! Usually after a crop or retreat, I end up forgetting something or just need to find the date for the event. I ended up making a D-ring Binder just for my PHDs!

My PHD page has been started a few years ago, actually in the United States! It made it's way to Canada and finally became a finished page!

I started the page in the United States with only my pictures matted and attached to the layout, but it was just needed a boost that missing something!

So, after packing up, moving and finally unpacking my PHD Binder. I got to play again! This time with a new Scrappy Friend in Canada, who just happened to have been working on a page using the Create A Critter Cartridge! I cut out the horse and title words "Howdy" from that cartridge and my page began to take shape.
I still wanted a little more to play off my daughter's cowboy hat. The one she was wearing and the one she placed on our boy, Skipper during his afternoon nap. Using the star and cowboy hat images from A Child's Year I cut them out in coordinating paper. Adding a bit of fiber to the cowboy, gave me the great title. Wrapping a bit of fibers through the star and attaching to the top of a journaling tag, I  finally got my page done!

    Hope you enjoyed my page!

Don't forget to leave a comment to be eligible for the sponsored giveaways!
Follow the sponsor giveaway entry directions at FISKAFRIENDS.  One name will be chosen from each blog and entered into the drawing for sponsor's prizes. So, the more blogs you comment on the more your chances to be entered!!!!

    Coming soon! Fiskafriends Blog Hop

FISKAFRIENDS - THE POWER OF COMMUNITY BLOG HOP

History: In 2006, Fiskars created Fiskateers.com - which consisted of a blog, forums and gallery.  As people joined the community, they were consecutively assigned identifying numbers, added to their online user names. A vibrant, close-knit creative community evolved from this event.  Membership was required to view the gallery and forums and participate in the Fiskateer events. In December of 2013, Fiskars closed the forums and gallery.

2nd Layout from February's XOXO Scrapbooking Lift!

Little Nan is what my husband called her once he saw her dressed in the knitted sweater and cap! "Little Nan" was the nickname for his Grandmother. I when to get photos done for my daughter in her Halloween costume and the photographer asked if she could get some shots with her in the sweater & cap.

Using Webster's Pages I fussy cut some of the flowers to frame the photos.

Added some embellishments and edge distress the papers.

    Here is the full layout.

1st Layout Completed for February's XOXO DT Challenge!

This month I got to use our lift twice!

Here is the 1st one I did using a Halloween Pic of my kids. I started off using the sketch of Kimmy's layout, but then it turned into something of my own creation!
A button cluster in the top corner using a spider I had cutout previously but didn't use on another layout!

I had used these two cool Halloween themed punches at a scrapbooking retreat. So, I made an extra strip just in case! Got the chance to put it to use!

A pre-printed journal box, jack-o-lantern and a cat I had cut out, but never used, until now!

As you can see it turned out as it's own creation...I started out using the sketch elements from Kimmy's layout! Then it became it's own!

Here's Kimmy's layout we had to go on!

Hope you got the chance to play along with us over at XOXO Scrapbooking!

    Pool Party Invites

My daughter's birthday is coming up and she wants a swimming party.  So, I created her invites!

I used Close To My Heart Stamp Set called Makin' Waves. Stamped the image and colored in the mask, his feet and beak. Then after it dried added Liquid Applique to the duck's body.

I also used some light blue pearl Stickles on the bubbles and Liquid Glass for the inside of the mask. Here is a better shot to so it!

I started out using a stamp and then hand-writing the invite info. But, since there was not enough room to fit all the info. I created my own version using MicroSoft Word. This one is one I will use on her scrapbook page(s) for her party.

I used a Fiskars Inter-changeable Border Punch, which I don't know the name of! Stamped the Splish Splash sentiment for the CTMH - Makin' Waves set.

I didn't make as fancy invites for her class. I did add the Stickles! Since, they would only hang a the fridge and then be thrown away! Here's a shot of those created!
